Jiro Shidare Japanese Maple is best suited to full or partial sun. If planted in an area with full sun exposure, 6 to 8 hours of sunlight every day is ideal. On the other hand, if planted in partial sun, it should receive at least 4 hours of direct sunlight in the afternoon. During the hottest hours of the day, partial sun will provide the plant with relief from the intense heat.
